When we arrived in Kuta, Lombok the first thing, we grabbed a scooter to drive up a hill in Gerupuk. The sun was setting so we had this breathtaking view for couple of minutes before heading back in the dark.
Ps. There are no street lights and paved roads.

Lombok is an island with stunning coastlines and the views from Gerupuk Hill are probably the most beautiful ones! you don’t believe it? watch the travel vlog and let me know in the comments what you think. – After checking in to our Hotel, which is close to Kuta in Lombok, we left for a quick dinner. Quick because it was already late afternoon and we planned to discover the coast of Lombok around Kuta. With no plans at all we drove along dusty bumpy roads and ended up in Gerupuk. Gerupuk is well known for its surf spots. Checking out the bay we discovered this huge hill right behind Gerupuk. This is not a “well known” tripadvisor-rated viewpoint. Its simply a hill without any tourists. But the view on the coast is probably the most beautiful you’ll experience.

There is a lake on the Island of Gili Meno where a lot of birds breed. The lake is not really a spot to swim but amazing to watch the sunset from a boat dock. From the perspective of the drone it looks like the sea and the lake will connect on high tide, which is not really the case.

Somebody had this brilliant idea to place a swing right in the water close to the beach. I dont know which swing was the first but you’ll find a couple of them on Gili Trawangan. Most people just stand there and shoot a picture for the gram. Depending on the tide you can really swing. I had so much fun on this thing, trying to get higher while the water splashes up. Have you ever been on a water swing like this one?

I’ll be honest, i already saw a couple of water swing pictures swinging through instagram before i saw this Gili water swing on the Gili Trawangan Island. Nevertheless it is something fascinating, a swing placed in the middle of the ocean. This one was placed right in front of the hotel we were staying. Someone had the idea of building such a water swing and now there are a handful of swings on the island or in the sea, however you want to call it. During the daytime the swing is often occupied by people shooting pictures and making selfies. The first time i had the chance to get on it, i tried to swing. first attempt failed. One of the two swings was hanging a bit lower than the other one. with the lower one i had no chance to swing because it was too hard to get enough velocity to swing out of the water. It depends on the tide, when it’s high, it gets more difficult, when low, easier. The second try on the other swing was successful. i gained height once the swing came out of the water. Trust me, that was fun!

A house on the hillls of Lombok with the most impressive Yoga studio! Woke up early and drove all the way up to the Ashtari Yoga studio. It is a platform with a view of Lombok’s coast line. The rising sun was shining on this beautiful landscape and illuminated the studio with warm bright morning light.

A beautiful deserted beach where i helped a couple of fishermen to pull their boat out of the sea. on our way back we discovered a abandoned villa. Probably the owner run out of money whilst the construction phase. We started the drone to explore the villa from the air.
